Remembering how to understand

The day when I finally start understanding the topic is the day when I take other people's ideas seriously.
I found this to be true last year: the more I understood the reasoning behind other people's cases, the stronger I could make my own, because I saw more widely how principles involved in the topic worked.
Today I'm going through flows, picking up drifts of the truths beneath what people said, realizing how overlapping cooperation and competition are, and analyzing everything. It's a wonderful (albeit tiring) process.
